Landscape Garden Renovation in Lincoln

This landscape garden renovation in Lincoln involved a complete transformation
of an existing outdoor space, turning a tired and underused garden into a modern,
practical area designed for everyday living.

The project combined high-quality porcelain paving, a bespoke raised
sleeper planter, and freshly laid turf to create a well-balanced
garden that is both visually appealing and easy to maintain.

Landscape Garden Renovation

The Condition Before the Renovation

Before work began, the garden lacked structure and purpose. The layout did not make good use of the available space, and the existing surfaces had become worn and impractical over time. Drainage and ground levels were also a concern, limiting how the garden could be used, especially during wetter months.

The overall aim of the renovation was to improve usability, modernise the appearance, and create a space that would be easy to maintain while still offering visual interest.

Design & Planning for the Garden Renovation

For this landscape garden renovation, careful planning was essential to ensure all elements worked together seamlessly. The design focused on:

Creating a defined seating and entertaining area
Introducing structured planting with a raised feature
Adding fresh lawn space for a softer, natural finish
Improving ground levels and drainage

Porcelain paving was selected for its modern appearance, durability, and low-maintenance qualities. A raised timber sleeper planter was incorporated to add height, structure, and a focal point within the garden, while new turf was chosen to bring balance and softness to the overall design.

Groundworks & Sub-Base Preparation

A successful garden renovation starts below the surface. The first stage involved removing the existing materials and preparing the ground properly to ensure long-term performance.

This included:

Excavation to the correct depth
Installation of a solid, well-compacted sub-base
Accurate levelling to support drainage and surface water run-off

By taking the time to prepare the ground correctly, we ensured that the new porcelain paving would remain stable and level for years to come.

Our Outstanding Landscape Garden Renovation Works

Porcelain Paving Installation

The porcelain paving was installed using professional methods suitable for this type of material. Each slab was laid with precision to achieve clean lines, consistent spacing, and a smooth, contemporary finish.

Porcelain paving offers several long-term benefits:

Resistant to stains and weathering
Low water absorption
Easy to clean and maintain
Hard-wearing and durable

This made it the ideal choice for a modern garden renovation where both appearance and practicality were important.

Raised Sleeper Planter Construction

A bespoke raised timber sleeper planter was constructed to add structure and character to the garden. The planter creates a defined planting area while also helping to break up the space visually.

The sleepers were carefully installed to ensure strength and longevity, providing a feature that complements the clean lines of the porcelain paving. This element also allows for flexible planting options, enabling the garden to evolve over time with seasonal colour and greenery.

Turf Preparation & Lawn Installation

To complete the renovation, the garden was finished with the preparation and laying of new turf. The ground was levelled, improved where needed, and prepared to ensure healthy lawn growth.

The new turf instantly transformed the space, adding a fresh, natural element that contrasts perfectly with the hard landscaping. The lawn provides an open, usable area suitable for relaxing, playing, or simply enjoying the garden.

The Finished Landscape Garden Renovation

The completed landscape garden renovation in Lincoln has delivered a fully refreshed outdoor space that meets the client’s needs both visually and practically. The combination of porcelain paving, raised sleeper planting, and fresh turf has created a balanced garden with clearly defined areas and a modern feel.

What was once an underused garden is now a welcoming outdoor space that can be enjoyed throughout the year, whether for entertaining, relaxing, or everyday use.

Long-Term Benefits of This Garden Renovation

This project offers several long-term advantages, including:

Improved garden usability
Low-maintenance materials
Enhanced appearance and structure
Increased property appeal

The renovation not only improved the look of the garden but also added real value and functionality to the property.

Great work from Mitch and the team replacing a gravel driveway and worn raised wooden patio decking with block paving and sandstone slabs respectively. Great communication and happy for my minor change of plans during the work. Would happily call on them again for any further work.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can only say that when Mitch came to do the work in my back garden he did a fantastic job. He was very reliable, very friendly and worked hard. I would definitely recommend him 100%. The mammoth job he did for me was to take 3 trees down and then a row of conifer as well as a vast amount of fencing then to replace fencing in concretely . I have had a lot of people comment on how good the new fencing looks and even ask for his contact number.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mitch and Alex tidied up my front garden, digging up old shrubs, laying gravel and planting a few trees. The quote was a fair price. They arrived on time, worked hard, communicated well and their work showed attention to detail. I was very pleased with the end result and would definitely use them again. There was nothing to fault. 5 stars.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mitch has just completed replacing a very long and troublesome hedge with fencing. From my initial phone call he has been an absolute delight. Arriving on time and keeping me informed of progress. He liaised with a nearby school and managed the job well from start to finish. He and Alex worked through some dreadful weather to complete to their time schedule and were also very helpful when I asked for some additional work to be carried out. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. They have tidied up as they went along and have left the garden really tidy. The fence looks amazing - good quality and with some nice touches where the levels change.
Mitch’s and Alex both have a strong work ethos and I feel extremely lucky to have made contact with them. I couldn’t be happier and will definitely be asking them back for some more work. I would recommend them in a shot. Thank you Mitch and Alex 😍

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mitch has just completed installing 2 patios, a base for a greenhouse, fencing and a trellis panel for me. He was great to work with. He sent the quote immediately after his initial visit and was patient during some back and forth as I decided what materials etc I wanted. The work was carried out on time, to a high standard and he was extremely professional throughout. Both Mitch and Alex were a pleasure to work with and I am already discussing the next phase of work with him.
